Okay here goes



I was feeling a bit down and out last night...
So I started browsing my gallery... checking my gallery stats to see what has the most faves and comments and what not.

Then ... I ended up going through some of my Zutara pieces... and reading everyone's comments on them.

It made me... rather happy and sad at the same time.

Happy because... it was so nice and it gave me the warm fuzzies to read how one piece of Zutara art could brighten up a person's day (and I know for sure this is true for many other Zutara pieces done by other artists out there). The amount of optimism and elation and hope we all got whenever we saw them two portrayed in artwork either serious or comical, the jokes and laughs and hope we shared with other Zutarians... I miss it.

Sad because... we won't ever get that same elation and hope back for Zutara again will we? I find sometimes I can't draw Zutara because cliched as this sounds... it hurts. Back before the finale, when I made Zutara art... serious or funny... it always gave me a little boost in my heart... that it wasn't over yet. But now... it kind of stings sometime. Whenever I see breathtaking Zutara art... it always stings because I see this amazing potential and amazing couple in front of me... and I realise I won't see them animated on TV.

The same can be said for Harry Potter for me. Not in a shippy way. (Heron won. End game made me happy as a shipper... cept I still wanted and rooted for Harry/Death.) Sometimes I feel like rereading the series... or just rewatching a movie (I know, I know... not the same but still come on... it's fun to see the books come alive via live action... however inaccurate it may be with actual canon or how we imagined it in our heads when we read it) ... because at the end of it, it reminds me of how deeply I felt for the fandom, how crazily into it I was, how eagerly I anticipated the new books ... and still kind of anticipate the movies. It reminds me of Pottershare and YBAN which are places I essentially found my artistic humble beginnings. I especially remember Pottershare, the House cup, my HoHs,my house mates, collabs and contests and just... heck I even miss the n00bs and trolls who'd stop by the chatroom. Great times, but times that are gone and I'm not entirely sure I can relive them again without the help of a Timeturner.

I haven't really found interest in any other books or shows since to engage and actively participate in like I did with those two. Oh don't get me wrong.. i LOVE books,Tv and movies to death, but... I don't feel the urge to draw for any of the things I read or watch like I did for those two fandoms. I don't know why this is. (Although I did have a tiny Blood+ phase... as well as a Disney phase >.> )

Little known fact maybe, but my favorite movie of all time is the Lord of the Rings trilogy... especially "Return of the King".I cried for the last hour of ROTK. Heck if I even catch a few bars of ANY of the variations of "The Shire" from the OST... I start bawling... I kid you not :| (There may or may not be video evidence of this, I shall neither confirm nor deny :paranoid: ) LOTR was probably my FIRST fandom... even BEFORE Harry Potter. I liked Harry Potter sure... but I didn't LOVE it till I read a fanfic back in 2004. I didn't really get into fanart mode for LOTR weirdly enough :/ ... probably cos it's always had a huuuuge fandom for decades.

In that breath though I will make certain recommendations, in case it catches ANY of your attentions and fancies. It's always fun to fall in love with something and feel so passionately about it, that it inspires and fires your creativity to life :

:star:Glee is a fun watch. :iconk3k4: got me into it. If not for the songs and mashups or because you actually like the kids in the Glee club (I have a problem with most of them..) .. watch it for Jane Lynch's Cheerio coach Sue Sylvester. That character alone is enough reason to watch the show.

Maybe it's not funny to you... but in the context of the show.. that scene is downright hilarious. :XD:

:star:I am totally digging Modern Family on ABC. The little kid, Manny is the star... hands down. Though I love Cam and Mitchell, the gay couple :XD: It's hilarious.

looool. The show has some serious heartwarming moments though :)

:star:And Community on NBC ain't half bad. I've always been a fan of Joel Mchale... so to see more of him makes me happeh :D ... not to mention how completely insane the character Abed is. Plus a show that boasts a supporting cast of John Oliver and Ken Jeong in recurring guest roles can't be bad.

At the end of the show, Abed and Troy usually have a zany comedic moment.. if it helps... they have the same Spanish class and are in the same study group.. hence the song :XD:

:star:Heroes apparently is back to form this season. I haven't been able to get my watch on cos I miss it on Monday nights cos of work... but Z tells me it's been a good season.
I don't think I'll give a sample here... but yeah there's a lot of catching up to do.

:star: How I Met Your Mother. Also a little late in the game... but catching up shouldn't be hard and it's SO worth it. Six words : Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson

:star: I've said this before... if Greek mythology is your thing... start reading the Percy Jackson series now. I know it's written for like tweens and like people in the range of 10-14 or something... but it's still a fun read if you can put aside your eliticism for plot and story structure and all that literary crap. I'm just a sucker for Greek mythology k? Plus they ARE making a movie so I'm excited about this one :3

:star:If however you like your tween fiction a bit more adult and better written... uhm hello... the Bartimaeus Trilogy. :heart: I loved reading this. The character of Bartimaeus was absolute win. I loved his little footnote details... you'll see what I mean if you read the books.

I just suddenly realised... I really miss reading books as often as I used to.
Anyways give the aforementioned a tryout. If you don't like it... no pressure. You don't necessarily have to be driven to draw/write in order to just like them. But that would be a fun plus :)
